Favorite Finds - Wine & Cheese Party

I love hosting! Hosting parties, holidays, family, friends, little people - all of it! I am a “gather-er”, I really enjoy bringing people together. I also really enjoy gathering when it includes WINE!

One of my all-time favorite ways to host my friends is with a little “Wine & Cheese Tasting Party”. This is a perfect way to bring new and old girlfriends together. Wine tasting is an interactive evening, and truly a simple set up! Here is wine and cheese night at my last house in Hohenfels, Germany…

Here are some of my top picks for hosting a carefree wine & cheese night...

1. Chalkboard paper table runner

I love using this chalkboard paper, as a runner down the middle of my dining table or buffet! I like to pair 5-6 individual wines with a complimentary cheese. This paper is the perfect surface to creatively plate your wines & cheese - while LABELING them!   I love to doodle and have some fun, while setting my table.

2. Cheese Boards

I tend to use small cheese boards for my parties - all in the same style. I prefer a uniform look to my table. Hecef makes this beautiful set, made with natural color wood. These sets come with an accompanying cheese fork and knife. This three piece set is easy to clean and in a classic style.

3. Stemless Wine Glasses

Durable and elegant wine glasses are a must! I love these classic stemless glasses by Modvera. These glasses are elegant and made with a ship resistant rim, they are also dishwasher safe and offer crystal grade clarity. Make things easy on yourself, as a host, and ditch having a different wine glass for each type of wine - these complement everything you plan on pouring!

4. Silver Spittoon

What the heck is a spittoon? It is a really nice way to say “spit bucket:”. HA! Every wine tasting room offers a bucket to discard unwanted wine, from tastings. I like to keep things classy & at least have a pretty bucket. I also like to place the spittoon off to the side, but in a convenient location, so guests can stay actively involved in the party, while easily being able to disregard wine they don’t plan on drinking. Here is a great pick from Amazon!

5. Wine Tasting Scorecard

It is so much fun to discover an awesome new wine that you love! Help your guests keep track of what they are drinking with this wine tasting scorecard! Your guests are able to make notes on color, viscosity, smell and taste! There are 20 cards in this pack, instructions for tasting and an aroma wheel - it is a ton of fun!

Cheers, Friends - to your next wine & cheese party!
