Nestled among the Ponderosa Pine and Western Juniper native to Central Oregon’s high desert, and within sight of the snowy peaks of the Cascade Range, you will find Sunriver Resort. Just fifteen miles south of Bend and a little over a three hour drive from Portland International Airport, Sunriver is a sprawling, family-friendly, luxury resort community situated among 3,300 acres of relaxation and all around good vibes. Our family has been lucky to visit this premier Pacific Northwest vacation destination many times.
This stunning property sits in the middle of the Deschutes National Forest, on the east bank of the Deschutes River, and offers endless fun for all ages. The community features 11 on site dining options, 4 championship golf courses, numerous pools, a full spa, over 45 miles of paved bike trails, horse stables, a full marina, as well as seasonal activities and celebrations. We always rent bikes for our stay & easily travel the resort grounds and to accessible natural splendors not far from the resort. The girls love the guided pony rides & the entire family enjoyed paddle-boarding and a float on the meandering Deschutes.

From lodge rooms & suites to expansive vacation home rentals, there is a place to stay for every size family and budget. You can find rooms overlooking the golf course, condos situated next to the tennis courts, and countless homes with spectacular water views. There are over 245 rooms and more than 300 vacation homes available.
On a recent visit to Sunriver Resort, our family rented a 3 bedroom a-frame cabin, which included a full kitchen, dining space, comfortable living room and spacious wrap-around porch. Our unit featured a garage, grill, large lawn space to spread out on, and view of our community pool. The cabin maintained its rustic charm, while offering all of the modern amenities that keep us comfortable.
The region of Oregon, where Sunriver Resort sits, offers even more activities. During the winter months, you can find Alpine and Nordic skiing at Mt. Bachelor, snowshoeing, dog sledding and ice skating - all within close proximity. The summer months offer white water rafting, brewery tours in Bend (if you like beer, you’ll looooove Bend), countless hiking trails, and nearby small towns to explore.
